About_Kolkata Metro_Act Apprentice 2023

Although the Kolkata Metro was first conceived in the 1920s, work on it did not begin until the 1970s. The first subterranean section began service in 1984 and ran from Bhawanipore (now Netaji Bhawan) to Esplanade. 2020 saw the opening of the East-West Corridor, a shortened stretch of Line 2 that runs from Salt Lake Sector V to Phoolbagan. Launched in 2022, Line 3 is the Joka-Esplanade Corridor (now shortened in Taratala). After the Delhi Metro, Namma Metro, Hyderabad Metro, and Chennai Metro, it is the fifth-longest metro network in service in India.

Qualification_Kolkata Metro_Act Apprentice 2023

The qualification required is matriculation (matriculate or 10th class in10+2 system) with minimum 50% marks on average . ITI certificate affiliated to NCVT is compulsory in relevant trade.

Application Fees_Kolkata Metro_Act Apprentice 2023

Rs. 100 as postal order as a fee which is not applicable for SC/ST/PHP/Women candidates.

Scheme of Exam_Kolkata Metro_Act Apprentice 2023

Selection of the Apprentices will be done on the basis of marks obtained in matriculation examination or 10+2 examination and minimum marks eligibility is 50% in aggregate. Having ITI pass certificate is compulsory. Final merit list will be prepared in descending marks obtained.

Age Limit_Kolkata Metro_Act Apprentice 2023

Minimum age of the candidates should be minimum 15 years and maximum age should not be more than 24 years.

(a) Upper age limit is relaxed by 05 years for SC/ST candidates

(b) Upper age limit is relaxed by 03 years for OBC candidates

(b) Upper age limit of Physically Handicapped is relaxed by 10 years for SC/ST candidates and 13 years for OBC candidates

Candidates should register at apprenticeshipindia.org . Application form and call letter as per format must be submitted in A4 sized paper duly filled in candidate’s own handwriting. Application should be addressed to Dy. CPO, Metro railway, Metro Rail Bhawan, 33/1, J.L. Nehru Road, Kolkata- 700071 in closed envelop scribed as “Application for Metro Railway” against vacancy notice no. 01/24/Metro Railway/ Kolkata dated 05.12.2023.

A crossed Indian postal order of Rs. 100/- as a processing fee in favour of PFA, Metro Railway, Kolkata payable to GPO/Kolkata. The same is not refundable. No postal order is required for SC/ST .PHP/ Women/ Minorities & Economically backward candidates.
